This is my favourite time of the year but also the busiest, not just work wise but also because I have to fit in my wedding anniversary and birthday in the same month as Christmas! I am not someone who bemoans that the festivities start earlier every year, I have to be persuaded not to put on Stevie Wonder’s Christmas Collection in October.
The week before New Year is also a wonderful opportunity to swatch the new yarns that have come in for Autumn/Winter. Away from the studio and the emails and “stuff” that gets in the way of all things creative I can play around with ideas, texture and colour while watching reruns of Miss Marple, my idea of heaven.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday and hope that you have a great 2017.

Can you experienced knitters out there give me some advice. I have just finished knitting a jacket for my granddaughter in Cashmerino Aran and before sewing it up should i gently press it with a steam iron to flatten the edges before sewing. Also what stitch do I sew to join the shoulder & side seams together- back stitch or over stitch? thanks
Hi Caroline, I always got told to sew side seams up with mattress stitch and if the garment was heavy to do the shoulders in a three needle bind off.
I’v been searching all over the place trying to find out the name of the pattern above and the yarn it uses (Happy Holidays From All At Debbie Bliss) model with huskies and sleigh. If anyone knows I’d be so grateful…Thanks.
